Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant or equivalent experience is required.

• Prior contracting experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

GPN Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a highly reputable Top 100 accountancy firm in London. The firm are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their client accounting team for their busy season.

This assignment will focus primarily on statutory accounts preparation under UK GAAP and IFRS, supporting the year-end process and liaising with auditors. There may also be some involvement in management accounts and VAT return preparation, though the main emphasis is on financial-statement work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and potentially some IFRS, including group consolidations
• Support the year-end process and liaise with auditors in a professional, timely manner
• Review working papers and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
• Assist with management accounts and VAT returns where required
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members

Qualifications and Skills

• ACA / ACCA / CPA / CAANZ / SAICA /CA qualified (or equivalent) or QBE
• CaseWare experience is ideal but not essential
• Recent experience within practice is preferred
• Prior contracting experience is advantageous
• Available to start immediately and commit through the 3 month busy season
