Job summary

Pertemps Swindon is recruiting an experienced Practice Accountant to join our accountancy client in Cricklade, SN6. This temporary role supports the Managing Director within a busy bookkeeping and accountancy practice.

The successful candidate will prepare management accounts and draft year-end accounts, review bookkeeping records for accuracy, and reconcile bank and control accounts. Strong independence and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
• Experience preparing management accounts and draft statutory accounts.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing management accounts for a portfolio of clients.
• Assisting with the preparation of draft year-end accounts.
• Reviewing bookkeeping records and ensuring accuracy.
• Reconciling bank accounts, control accounts, and ledgers.
• Investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies.
• Supporting the Managing Director with ad hoc accounting tasks.
