About Us

Anderson Knight is partnering with a well-established construction company based in Motherwell to find a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant. The company has a strong reputation in the industry, and they’re looking to add support to their team for a temporary period. This role will be crucial in ensuring smooth and accurate payroll processing, specifically within the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in processing weekly and monthly payroll for a large workforce, including subcontractors and employees.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and payment of wages, including overtime, holiday pay, and other allowances.
  • Maintain payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Handle employee queries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax issues.
  • Support the preparation and submission of RTI (Real-Time Information) returns.
  • Assist in managing pension contributions and other employee benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) for subcontractors.
  • Perform other payroll-related administrative tasks as required.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in payroll processing, ideally within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and relevant legislation (e.g., CIS, RTI).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and payroll software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
