Qualifications

  • A recognised Motor Vehicle qualification (Level 3 or above) or equivalent industry expertise.
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, CertEd, DET) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Proven experience teaching or training in Motor Vehicle Maintenance.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Programme Tutor for a caseload of full-time and part-time students.
  • Deliver engaging teaching sessions, practical workshops, and tutorials that support successful student completion.
  • Embrace and integrate new learning technologies (ILT) into teaching practice.
  • Promote positive student behaviour, discipline, and morale, ensuring a productive learning environment.
  • Record and report accurate data including e-registers, assessments, eILPs, and progress reviews.
  • Maintain high-quality teaching files including schemes of work, lesson plans, and tracking documents.
  • Keep curriculum knowledge up to date and maintain strong links with the motor vehicle industry.
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment, ensuring safeguarding and equality are upheld.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties aligned with the responsibilities of the role.
Requirements
  • A recognised Motor Vehicle qualification (Level 3 or above) or equivalent industry expertise.
  • A teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, CertEd, DET) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Proven experience teaching or training in Motor Vehicle Maintenance (light vehicle or relevant pathway).
  • Strong practical knowledge of diagnostics, servicing, repair, and automotive technologies.
  • Excellent classroom management and learner engagement skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience maintaining accurate records and documentation.
