Temporary HR Advisor – Central Reading – £15.00 to £17.00 per hour + Holiday Pay – 5 Days Office-Based – 3 Months Initially
About the Client

This opportunity is with a respected organisation in the Not For Profit sector. Based in central Reading, they are a well-established team supporting a meaningful cause in the local community. About the Job

This is an ongoing temporary position requiring a confident HR Advisor to join a small, hands‑on HR team. The successful applicant will support managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle, working closely with the Head of HR to provide generalist advice, manage processes, and contribute to a range of operational and administrative HR duties.

Duties will include :
  • Coordinating end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding, and compliance checks (including DBS and Right to Work)
  • Advising on employee relations matters including grievance, disciplinary, and absence management
  • Preparing payroll information and liaising with finance
  • Supporting employee wellbeing initiatives and internal staff communications
  • Producing HR reports and maintaining accurate records in line with GDPR
  • Administering learning and development activities and probation tracking
  • Ensuring timely responses to HR queries and managing the HR inbox
  • Assisting in policy development and deputising for the Head of HR when required
About the Successful Applicant

You will have 3–5 years of recent, UK‑based HR advisory experience in a generalist capacity, ideally within a small organisation. CIPD Level 3 or 5 would be a bonus, along with strong interpersonal skills, up‑to‑date employment law knowledge, and the ability to manage competing priorities with a hands‑on and proactive approach.
