Job description

Supply Star Recruitment are seeking a practical, proactive and well-organised Design & Technology Technician to provide temporary support within our client's DT department. This role is essential to ensuring safe, smooth and effective delivery of lessons across areas such as Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design, Engineering and Food Technology (depending on department needs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing materials, equipment and resources for practical lessons.
  • Supporting teachers during practical sessions and demonstrations.
  • Maintaining machinery, tools and workshop areas to ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Managing stock levels and ordering materials when required.
  • Ensuring the safe storage and handling of tools, equipment and consumables.
  • Assisting with displays, coursework preparation and project work where relevant.
  • Adapting quickly to the department's routines and priorities.
Person Specification
  • Experience working in a DT, workshop, engineering or practical learning environment (school or industry).
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures in a workshop setting.
  • Confident in using and maintaining tools, machinery and equipment (training can be provided).
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and support the teaching team.
