Job summary

Tate, based in Colney Heath near St Albans, seeks a Payroll Assistant to support weekly and monthly payroll on a temporary, part-time basis. The role is office-based, 3 days per week, with hours 9:00–17:00, starting as soon as possible through to the end of December 2026.

Ideal candidates have payroll experience, strong numerical and administrative skills, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. ADP payroll experience is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous payroll experience required.
• Experience with payroll procedures and processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to meet payroll deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately.
• Prepare and check payroll information before processing.
• Maintain accurate employee payroll records.
• Process starters, leavers and changes to employee details.
• Check payroll calculations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with payroll queries and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure payroll deadlines are met.
• Provide general payroll and administrative support to the team.
• Assist with Accounts Payable and archiving.
