Job summary

Workchain is seeking an experienced Temporary HGV Class 1 Driver for a fixed-term assignment in Peterborough. You will safely operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle, complete required paperwork, and ensure compliance with UK regulations while delivering goods on scheduled routes.

Key requirements include holding a valid HGV Class 1 licence with <=6 penalty points, CPC and tachograph cards, and proven solo-driver capability. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and strong customer service with the client and Workchain.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 license with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Possess a valid CPC card and digital tachograph card.
• Previous experience working as a HGV Class 1 driver is essential.
• Strong knowledge of UK driving regulations and relevant legislations.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills with a professional and courteous approach.
• A strong commitment to ensuring the safety and security of goods in transit.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle to transport goods from one location to another within a designated route
• Ensure all necessary legal requirements and regulations are met when loading, unloading, and delivering goods
• Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and identify any maintenance or safety issues
• Responsible for the secure strapping and unstrapping of loads
• Complete accurate paperwork and document the movement of goods, delivery times, and any incidents that occur during transit
• Provide exceptional customer service by representing both the client and Workchain in a professional manner
