Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant in Chatham to support the Accounting & Finance department within the insurance industry. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with budgets, forecasts and statutory accounts, and supporting audits.

The successful candidate will have accounting experience, familiarity with regulatory standards, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in accounting and finance processes.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Process financial and management accounts for designated areas.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timetables are met.
• Assist with budget and forecast exercises as required.
• Assist with production of statutory accounts for the company and subsidiaries.
• Support external audits with internal and external auditors and stakeholders.
• Contribute to IT implementation projects and business process improvements.
