About The Role

Want to use your interpersonal skills over the telephone to provide vital support and services information to people affected by dementia?

As a Telephone Support Volunteer you will help people living with dementia, affected by dementia or people that are worried about their memory connect to support and services that are available to them. You will provide a service that is tailored to a person's needs, interests, abilities, history and personality. You will be a key point of contact for people using our services, ensuring that we keep in touch with people at a time when they need our support.

Our Dementia Support service and Community Dementia Advisers in Coventry are looking for Telephone Support Volunteers to offer people living with dementia and their carers Keeping in Touch calls. This is a telephone based role and can be completed from home, but it is beneficial for you to be based within Coventry, as you will be signposting people to other local services and groups in the community. To better serve our diverse community, we welcome applicants who can speak one or more community languages in addition to English, including (but not limited to) Urdu, Farsi, Polish, Punjabi and Gujarati.

This role will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal Records Check from either the Disclosure and Barring Service (England & Wales), Disclosure Scotland Check (Scotland) or AccessNI (Northern Ireland).

You’ll be great for the role if you:

  • You are over the age of 18.
