Job summary

VEA Telecoms in Castle Douglas, Scotland, is seeking five Civils Operatives to join its telecoms infrastructure team. You will carry out underground and surface civil engineering tasks to install and maintain telecommunications networks, while prioritising safety, quality and productivity.

Responsibilities include excavation, reinstatement, duct installation, building telecoms chambers, core drilling, installing underground ducting, and operating plant with safe practices.

Qualifications

• Civils experience with telecoms infrastructure preferred.
• NRSWA qualifications and excavator ticket required.
• Ticketed qualifications (SA006, SA004, K008, Q013, Q019, Q020, Q021) are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Carry out excavation, reinstatement, and duct installation works.
• Build and install telecoms chambers and boxes.
• Complete core drilling and duct blockage clearance activities.
• Install and maintain underground ducting systems.
• Operate excavators and other plant safely and efficiently.
• Work in accordance with NRSWA, health and safety legislation, and company procedures.
• Complete all required documentation and ensure work is delivered to specification.
• Work effectively as part of a civils team to meet project deadlines.
