Telecommunications Delivery Assurance Officer
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to select their base from the following NWAS main sites: Estuary Point (Liverpool), Broughton (Preston), Middlebrook (Bolton), or Parkway (Manchester).
Overview
In order to provide effective and resilient support to NWAS Critical Systems, the Telecommunications Delivery Assurance Officer will be the senior authority on telecoms, ensuring that design incorporates resilience, reliability, and sustainability while maintaining documentation throughout the lifecycle of the solutions.
Responsibilities
- Ensure telecommunications design incorporates resilience, reliability and sustainability.
- Produce, maintain and control comprehensive system design and configuration documentation through the life of the solution.
- Maintain and manage both existing telecommunications solutions and all future developments across the Trust.
- Act as the subject matter expert for the Avaya telephony system, drawing on at least 10 years of experience with Avaya estates.
- Use technical knowledge to drive continual improvement of telephony services.
- Serve as the ultimate escalation point for all telephony issues, providing advice and guidance to the ICT Senior Management Team and infrastructure engineers.
- Collaborate with industry leaders and experts to maintain systems that meet the changing digital landscape.
- Assess business requirements across the Trust and recommend solutions that meet current and future needs.
- Future‑proof designs and maintain awareness of technology developments and strategic direction.
- Participate in national meetings regarding the future of the Ambulance Service telephony system.
- Ensure telephony support does not impact day‑to‑day IT tasks (BAU) or digital project workloads.
- Travel regularly in your own vehicle across the Northwest and occasionally nationally as required; a full driving licence is mandatory.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience maintaining and leading Avaya estates.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications design, resilience, reliability and sustainability.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel frequently across the Northwest and sometimes nationally.
- Availability to attend site regularly; hiring can only be conducted on-site.
- Collaboration and communication skills to advise senior management and engineering teams.
- Must be able to attend national telephony meetings and represent the Trust.
- Cannot offer sponsorship; applicants must have right to work in the UK.
