Job summary

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Tele coaches to deliver brief clinical risk assessment, triage, and psychological support by telephone to individuals in mental health crisis across our First Response service.

The role requires professional registration (RMN, OT, or psychology) and experience in crisis intervention, with flexible working options and opportunities for development within our NHS Trust.

Qualifications

• Degree level education in Psychology (BPS registered) or Occupational Therapy (HPC) or RMN registration or Social Care/ Social Work (GSCG) or Psychotherapist with BPS post-graduate cert.
• Current UK registration (NMC/HCPC/GSCG/PSYCH) per role.
• Experience in mental health practice and application of evidence-based therapies.
• Experience with telephone or in-person assessments and crisis interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide brief clinical risk assessment and UK mental health triage for people in crisis.
• Conduct crisis de-escalation and coaching in distress tolerance and emotional regulation.
• Utilise brief psychological interventions to empower patients, carers and families.

Our First Response service offers 24/7 support to people of all ages living in Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale or Craven to ensure that access to high-quality mental health care can be achieved by people suffering with a mental health Crisis in line with Core 24 Guidance.

Accessed through a single phone number people can ring for help from psychological / mental health trained staff, who can identify their needs and intervene or signpost as required to ensure that they can access the right support in a timely way from an appropriate service.

Main duties of the job

Tele coaches provide brief clinical risk and UK mental health Triage, formulations and brief psychological interventions for people presenting in mental health crisis.

Working via telephone, Tele coaches are experts in validating, de-escalating crisis and coaching people in distress tolerance and emotional regulation strategies.

Using a range of brief psychological interventions, Tele coaches empower patients, carers and families to manage distress and crisis effectively.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Degree level education in the following: Psychology (BPS registered) Or Occupational Therapy (HPC) Or Registered Mental Nursing Certificate (RMN) Current Registration on part 3 or part 13 of NMC register Or Social Care Or Social Work (GSCG) Or Psychological Therapist with BPS approved post graduate certificate


• Experience in relevant area of mental health practice


• Application of evidenced based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service.


• Acute Mental health experience


• Involvement in innovative clinical practice.


• Experience on telephone or face to face assessments.
