Job summary

A UK-based engineering firm is seeking skilled workers for roles including Tele Handler Operator and Steel Welder Fabricator. Candidates should have relevant qualifications such as C & G or NVQ in steel erection or welding and a CSCS Card. The pay ranges from £17 to £25 per hour depending on the role and experience. This is a temporary position lasting 2 to 8+ weeks, with the possibility of overtime. Immediate availability is preferred.

Positions

• Tele Handler Operator: Using Tele Handler Fork Lift to move steelwork & plant equipment on site, unloading vehicles. Assisting with rigging & erecting steelwork such as staircases, balconies, platforms, handrails etc.
• Steel Erector/Fitter: Working on projects erecting steel work and architectural steel work. Working on staircases, handrails, work platforms, frames etc. Some fabrication & modifications as required. Ideally able to weld.
• Semi Skilled / Mates: Considered to cover and assist with this type of work. Work will be in a 50 mile radius ideally. However depending on workload workers must be OK to work on sites further away which will involve staying overnight near to site for 1‑4 nights as required in hotel rooms with meal allowances booked/paid by the company.
• Steel Welder Fabricator (MIG): Working on architectural metalwork & structural steel work mainly. Fabrication of sheet metal, steel work, plate, angle & box. Welding to high specs with MIG mainly and ideally some TIG on carbon, ali, stainless. Working from engineering drawings in the Fab Shop plus site work as required to erect/fit work.

Qualifications & Requirements

• C & G or NVQ Steel Erection or Welding Fabrication.
• CSCS Card & Ideally IPAF or MEWP Card & CPCS Card for Tele Handler Fork Lift ideally with Slinging & Rigging.
• UK Driving Licence.

Hours & Terms

Hours - 07:30 to 16:00 Mon to Fri + O/T as required. Often work 07:00 to 17:30.

Term - Temp 2 to 8+ weeks possibly longer term role.

Pay - Depending on experience, skills, Quals from Skilled £22.50+ to £25+ per hour Mon to Fri & £30+ per hour Sat. Tele Handler Op/Mate £20+ hr Semi Skilled £17+ per hr.
