Job summary

Unite Students is seeking a Fixed Term Contract Technology Procurement Manager to join our procurement team. You will bring a strong technology-focused procurement background with hands-on experience across Cloud, IT Infrastructure and SaaS, delivering value through strategic sourcing and effective supplier management.

You will influence stakeholders, manage risk and build robust supplier relationships, enabling fast problem solving and continuous improvement across technology categories.

The Role

Unite Students has an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Term Contract TechnologyProcurement Manager to join our growing procurement team.

Reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager – Technology, this role requires a strong technology-focused procurement background, with hands-on experience across Cloud, IT Infrastructure and SaaS. While a broader procurement background is valuable, we are specifically looking for someone with specialist knowledge of these technology categories and proven experience managing procurement within the technology space.

The role will provide professional procurement advice and support across these categories, driving category strategy, strategic sourcing and competitive tendering to deliver value for money. You will also build effective supplier and stakeholder relationships, optimise supplier performance and minimise supply chain risk.

What You'll Be Doing

• The sourcing and commercial support across primarily across IT, Professional Services, however you may be required to support across any other significant operational category spend as required.
• Maintain excellent customer relationships with operational, project and support teams to enable fast problem solving and `one-team` mentality
• Sourcing, selecting and negotiating industry leading supply solutions that deliver real value to Unite, our suppliers, our customers and our shareholders alike
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records, repositories and supplier information, including catalogues and punchout content.
• Being a procurement role model - demonstrating influence and commercial acumen, an active contributor to the success of the team
• Draft supply contracts and negotiating terms that maximise value and limit risk,
• Actively contributing to the wider team goals including our UNITE Environment, Social and Governance goals and Positive Impact helping us achieve our responsible business practices.

What We're Looking for in You

• Ability to build relationships and rapport regardless of individual or level
• Experience using cloud, IT Infrastructure and SaaS.
• A `customer-first mindset` to ensure the supply requirements of the business are fully understood
• Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication in English, able to influence stakeholders and suppliers alike and achieve negotiate successfully
• Commercial skills: able to identify what is important and how it contributes to the success of our business and to that of our suppliers, delivering value through a variety of means
• Accountability: Able to prioritize work, meet deadlines and targets
• Analytical Skills: A curious individual, with strong problem-solving skills and techniques. Ability to manage large sets of data with close attention to detail
• An understanding and experience of Catalogue Management and Category Management
• Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of Procurement processes, specifically Supplier Relationship Management and Contracts Management is desirable
• Motivation: Strong desire to learn and develop in the Procurement/Supply Chain areas
