Pay Rates: PAYE £33.95 per hour / Limited/Umbrella £47.13 per hour
Somerset Council’s Resources Strategy & Transformation directorate is committed to delivering secure, resilient, and efficient ICT infrastructure. The ICT Infrastructure Network team plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the council’s core network and firewall systems, ensuring continuity of services for staff, residents, and partners.
We are recruiting one Team Lead to provide interim leadership within the Networks & Firewall team. This role will backfill a permanent member of staff while they and aligned resources focus on deploying new network and firewall infrastructure across core sites, including County Hall.
The successful candidate will lead a small team of eight 3rd line specialists covering networks, firewalls, and telephony. While a strong technical understanding of the team’s remit is required, the primary focus will be on team management, workload prioritisation, delivery oversight, and stakeholder engagement.
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, typically one day in the office and four days remote, with flexibility depending on project and team needs.
