Job summary

Deloitte is hiring for IT Audit Specialist roles in an Early Careers programme. You will identify technology risks, evaluate IT controls and cybersecurity measures, and assess the impact of emerging technologies on the control environment.

The programme combines structured training with real client work, mentoring and progression support. You’ll undertake a comprehensive training scheme, gain responsibility from day one, and pursue qualifications such as CISA or an MSc in Digital and Business

Qualifications

  • You’ll need to have obtained or be studying towards a minimum 2:1 in any degree discipline and have graduated by September 2027 for the Autumn 2027 intake.
  • We have identified 10 core skills that are essential to all of our roles in Early Careers.

What does this team do?

Audit matters to everyone, even if you've never heard the word before. When a company shares its financial results, people need to know those numbers are accurate. That's where audit comes in. We check company financial reports independently, so the public, investors and businesses can trust what they're seeing. It's a job that protects people, and it genuinely makes a difference.

In IT Audit, we help organisations identify and manage technology risks that could impact financial reporting and business performance. As an IT Auditor, you will identify technology-related risks, evaluate the effectiveness of IT controls and cybersecurity measures, and assess the impact of emerging technologies, such as AI, cloud computing, and automation, on an organisation's control environment. Working alongside financial audit teams and the companies we audits, you will provide practical insights that support high-quality audits and strengthen trust in technology-enabled processes.

You will gain exposure to a wide range of organisations, from large global businesses to smaller entities, developing both technical and professional skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to understand how technology supports business objectives. It will enable you to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and impactful way.

By helping ensure the integrity of financial reporting, you will contribute to building confidence and trust in organisations and the wider market.

How will I develop?

Working as an IT Audit Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to make an impact from day one.

  • You’ll managing business relationships and developing an ability to understand how businesses use technology to help them achieve their objectives and the risks/opportunities involved. You’ll also gain invaluable knowledge of how different organisations manage these risks.

  • You’ll get to work with some of the most talented professionals in this specialism. Alongside hands-on experience, you’ll have the opportunity to study towards qualifications, such as the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification offered by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) or complete a Master of Science (MSc) in Digital and Business Risk Management. Throughout this time, you’ll be given allocated study leave for learning.

  • Studying for a qualification is a challenging but rewarding experience. It will include not only technical skills, but soft skills like strong communication, decision-making, resilience and problem-solving.

  • We will cover the cost of all mandated courses, permitted exam attempts and membership fees required for your qualification. We will also provide a specified amount of paid study leave.
