Technologist – Quality Services

Kettering, Northamptonshire (NN16) | Frequent UK & International Travel

Salary: Up to £26,000

37.5 hours per week | Full-time

Interaction Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a highly respected, internationally recognised testing and quality organisation for a Technologist to join their Quality Services team.

This is a unique opportunity for a technically capable professional who enjoys international travel, variety in their work, and working directly with customers worldwide. The role offers structured training, exposure to global clients, and the chance to build specialist skills in auditing and calibration.

About the Team

The Quality Services team is a small, expert group of technologists delivering audit and calibration services to customers across five continents.

The team supports an international laboratory accreditation programme used primarily by consumer goods and footwear manufacturers, ensuring laboratories meet accreditation standards through annual audits and staff technical assessments. Alongside this, the department provides fully traceable calibration services, operating to an ISO 17025:2017 quality system.

Technologists are cross‑trained to deliver both auditing and calibration services, offering variety, responsibility and international exposure.

The Role

As a Technologist, you will spend up to 20+ weeks per year travelling within the UK and overseas, delivering audit and calibration services to a global customer base. Assignments may range from one‑day UK visits to multi‑week international trips to destinations including North and South America and Asia. Travel is fully funded and organised, with company pool vehicles available for UK travel and all overseas travel expenses covered. Full training will be provided, including enrolment on recognised ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 Lead Auditor qualifications.

  • Calibrating physical test equipment to customer specifications
  • Auditing laboratories against accreditation and customer standards
  • Assessing customer competence in test method performance
  • Producing audit reports and calibration certificates to tight deadlines
  • Managing multiple client projects simultaneously
  • Planning and coordinating efficient and profitable overseas trips
  • Supporting travel planning, including risk assessments, visas, accommodation and transport
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Completing leather grading accreditations
  • Acting as a professional ambassador for the organisation's services
About You

Desirable Experience
  • Auditing experience and/or recognised ISO 9001 / ISO 17025 qualification
  • Calibration experience
  • Laboratory quality systems knowledge
  • Laboratory‑based testing experience
  • International business travel experience (especially outside Europe)
  • Practical or mechanical skills
  • Additional languages (Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese or Thai)
