Job summary

Network Rail in Tonbridge is seeking a motivated Technician - Signalling Maintenance. In this safety‑critical role you will support the Team Leader, organise the crew, deliver work to high safety and quality standards, and perform inspections, fault‑finding and renewal tasks to keep the networks running.

You will need proven experience in planning safe systems of work, be a strong team player who can embed a safety culture, and hold competencies in signalling inspection and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in planning and implementing safe systems of work.
• Strong team player with ability to motivate and embed a safety culture.
• Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.
• NVQ Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent experience).

Technician - Signalling Maintenance

Location: Tonbridge DU

Salary: Starting from IMC19 £38716 or Standard Maintenance Contract £45699

Shift Pattern: Days, Nights and Weekends (Safety Critical Role)

About The Role

We're looking for a motivated and safety-focused individual's to join our Signalling Maintenance team. In this role, you'll support the Team Leader in organising and motivating the team, ensuring the team delivers work safely and to the highest standards. You'll also carry out inspections, fault-finding, maintenance, renewal work and occasionally step up as Team Leader.

Your Experience And Skills

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience in planning and implementing safe systems of work.
• Strong team player with the ability to motivate and embed a culture of safety within your team.
• Knowledge of signalling inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques.
• Relevant competencies for the role (or willingness to achieve them), and ideally NVQ Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent experience).
• A valid driving licence and willingness to drive.

Important Information

This is a safety-critical role, which means you'll need to pass a medical assessment and be subject to drug and alcohol testing. Your role will involve working days, nights and weekends, so flexibility is necessary.
