Job description

As a Curriculum Resource Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that teaching teams have the resources and support they need to deliver exceptional learning experiences. Your contribution will directly impact student success and help create an inspiring learning environment. The role involves providing technical and administrative support to curriculum teams, maintaining resources, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. You will have opportunities to develop your skills, work with modern educational tools, and contribute to projects that enhance the student experience.

Northumberland College is Ofsted Outstanding and is currently building a multi‑million, state‑of‑the‑art, new college campus in Ashington, due to open in 2026. The successful candidate will be based at the new college where a purpose‑built construction, housing, advanced manufacturing and engineering centre will be located.

Curriculum spans technical, vocational further and higher education and includes large apprenticeship provision and dedicated centres for young people with SEND. The College has two main campuses in Ashington and Ponteland, and as part of the college group Education Partnership Northeast, it also has a significant number of satellite delivery centres across the region.

Role Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain curriculum resources and equipment.
  • Support teaching staff in practical sessions and demonstrations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of materials and tools.
  • Assist with the setup and organisation of learning environments.
  • Provide technical advice and support to staff and students.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a technical or vocational area.
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a technical support or resource management role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards in an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching teams.

Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience in an educational environment.
