Technician - Hospitality

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated hospitality professional in the Department of Creative, Digital and Leisure Industries within the Hospitality section. The technician role is integral to the smooth daily running of the department and has a large focus on commercial operations and supporting learning and teaching.

You will have responsibility for providing a consistent, responsive and high quality service to students and teaching staff in order to optimise the delivery of the curriculum. You will provide academic and technical support including equipment demonstrations and will organise the repair and maintenance of equipment. You will also be responsible for compliance of Food Safety and Health and Safety regulations, including HACCP and COSHH. You will manage the stock control in our commercial and teaching environments, and work closely with the EPOS coordinator to control this. You will be student facing, and liaise with them around technical support on a day to day basis.

You should have an HNC or relevant SVQ in an appropriate subject or equivalent, or significant relevant experience in a professional catering environment together with a good working knowledge of food safety and health and safety.
