Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking a Technician Facilitator for Creative Industries (3D). The role provides specialist technical and facilitation support across 3D disciplines, ensuring access to safe, high-quality learning environments for FE and HE programmes.

You will operate and maintain specialist equipment, deliver subject workshops, and contribute to development of industry-standard creative and digital skills. This part-time role offers a range of staff benefits and pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Level 4 or higher in a relevant creative/technical discipline.
• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths.
• Experience operating and maintaining specialist equipment and facilities relevant to the discipline.
• Experience dealing with customer queries and maintaining records; planning and delivering subject-specialist workshops or demonstrations.
• Strong understanding of creative production workflows, equipment, and emerging technologies in 3D.

The Role

The Creative Industries Technician Facilitator (3D) will provide specialist technical and facilitation support across designated creative disciplines, ensuring students and staff have access to high-quality, safe, and innovative learning environments. The role contributes to the practical delivery of FE and HE programmes and supports the development of industry-standard creative and digital skills.

What we are looking for

You should have a Level 4 or above in a relevant creative or technical discipline and an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths. You must have experience operating and maintaining specialist equipment and facilities relevant to the discipline. You will have experience of dealing with customer queries and maintaining records along with experience in planning and delivering subject-specialist workshops or demonstrations. You should have a strong understanding of creative production workflows, equipment, and emerging technologies(General 3D disciplines including – Clay/Plaster, 3D Printing).
