Weston College Group is seeking an Electrical Technician in Weston-super-Mare to provide technical support across Building and Construction. The role involves assisting staff, managing workshops, and ensuring safe handling of materials and equipment.

Interviews will be held on-site at college campuses in Weston-super-Mare. The position is full-time, 37 hours per week, with responsibilities across electrical, brickwork, carpentry, plastering and general construction as required.

Qualifikationen

• Level 2 qualification in Electrical is required.
• Up to date knowledge of Electrical practices within Construction is essential.
• Relevant experience in a construction or education environment is expected.

Aufgaben

• Assist the Construction Teaching Staff in managing workshops, classrooms and outdoor training areas.
• Organise and ensure safe storage, usage and handling of materials and equipment in line with Health & Safety rules.
• Assist staff with management and purchasing of resources and equipment.
• Set up learning activities and prepare equipment for students and staff as appropriate.

As the Electrical Technician, you will be providing technical support to the area of Building and Construction and, if required, to all students and staff within Electrical, Brickwork, Carpentry, Plastering and General Construction.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.

Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.

Day to day duties

• Assisting the Construction Teaching Staff in the management of workshops, classrooms, and outdoor training areas.
• Organising and providing the safe storage, usage, and working of all materials and equipment by both staff and students, in conformity with Health and Safety regulations.
• Assisting staff in the management and the purchase of resources and equipment.
• Safely setting up, preparing learning activities, and / or designing, as appropriate, equipment for the use of students and staff.

Required skills and qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Electrical.
• Up to date knowledge of Electrical practices within Construction.
• Relevant experience.
