A leading water and wastewater management company in the UK is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to ensure efficient operation at their Reading location. You will inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, with a competitive salary up to £45,000. The role requires a strong electrical and mechanical background, effective communication skills, and a full UK driving licence. Benefits include a contributory pension, 26 days holiday, performance-related pay, and various health perks.
We are currently recruiting Mechanical & Electrical Technicians to join our Water Production team to work out of our Fobney Water Treatment Works in Reading RG2 0SF.
As a successful candidate, you will use your mechanical & electrical knowledge as well as your experience to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment in a safe, efficient, timely and effective manner with minimum supervision, allowing us to ensure that all of our sites remain operational for the benefit of our customers.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact, and you will be actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites.
Base Location: Reading - Fobney - RG2 0SF.
Working Pattern: 38 Hours Monday‑Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby and overtime opportunities increasing earnings by a potential £8,000‑£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.
Company Van, PPE and all tools are also provided.
You should be a time‑served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical/electrical systems or with NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical/electrical engineering.
