Our Technicians provide the essential link between the Team Leader and the team's Operatives.
Technicians specialise in various disciplines; for this role, you'll become a specialist in Conductor Rail Equipment.
Our Technicians work outdoors in all conditions, at all times of the year, day or night. You could be involved in manual work, often transporting kit across tricky terrain. Safety, respect for rules, and teamwork are critical, especially when working near moving trains at high speed.
As a natural team player, you'll also be able to lead the team when asked by the Team Leader. You'll ensure work is delivered safely and that the team has the right competencies to meet safety standards. Be a role model for safe working behaviours and confident to challenge risks to safety.
Today's Technicians can progress to become tomorrow's Team Leaders. Your commitment to self-development and continuous learning is vital. We provide training to develop both technical and non-technical skills. If transitioning from another industry, our structured training will give you the skills and confidence for a rewarding rail career.
Our Technicians play a vital role in maintenance. You don't necessarily need rail experience, but you should demonstrate how your transferrable skills meet the following:
·Shifts: Includes days, nights, and weekends.
·Outdoor work: Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
·Safety: Employment is subject to drug/alcohol testing and medical assessments, including hearing and eyesight exams.
·Driving: Must have a category B driving license to operate Network Rail vehicles.
·Commute: Must live within a 60-minute commute of the location.
