The post is full-time on a fixed-term basis (1 November 2026 to 30 June 2028) with a starting salary of £30,878 on Grade D, and opportunities for working part-time or job-sharing arrangements.

The University wishes to recruit a Research Technician to work alongside PI Naomi Gatis and Co‑Is Alan Puttock, Diego Panici and Richard Brazier. This role will contribute to a NERC funded project entitled Return of the beaver: adapting and mitigating climate‑induced hydrological extremes building on a suite of novel and impactful beaver researcher already undertaken at the University of Exeter. The successful candidate will collect, process and manage high‑quality empirical datasets across multiple field sites.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in the field collecting high quality empirical data; be keen to learn new techniques, gain new knowledge, skills and experience as well as a genuine interest in the outcome of the project. They must also be able to demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with teams of researchers and must be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to research.
The post holder will demonstrate an ability to undertake laboratory and field research, including ensuring safe working practices through training and risk assessments, managing inventories of materials and chemicals, and purchasing laboratory supplies.
