Technical Tutor - Electrical

Role: Technical Tutor – Electrical

Location: Berkshire

Salary: £41,096 – £44,165 per annum (Scale L)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are recruiting a Technical Tutor – Electrical to join an established Further Education college team in Berkshire. This role is focused on managing a dedicated caseload of electrical apprentices, delivering skills coaching, mentoring, and continuous assessment to ensure learners reach End Point Assessment (EPA) Gateway readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an apprentice caseload, providing coaching, mentoring, and constructive assessment feedback.
• Conduct initial assessments and establish realistic start and planned end dates with learners and managers.
• Support 10–12 week progress reviews (in-person or remotely) to monitor knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
• Monitor, track, and audit "off-the-job" training hours to meet compliance requirements.
• Utilise digital platforms (MS Teams, E-Portfolios, EBS, Pro-achieve) for accurate learner tracking.
• Collaborate with central apprenticeship teams, employers, EPAOs, and Additional Learner Support (ALS).

Requirements

• Vocational qualifications: 18th Edition & AM2/AM2S (Degree/trade qualification).
• Level 2 English & Maths qualifications.
• Assessor Award (A1 or equivalent) and/or Teaching Qualification (CET, DET, DTLLS) or commitment to work towards.
• Proven experience working with apprentices, employers, awarding bodies, and EPAOs.
• Proficient with digital learning tools and e-portfolios.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team-working skills.
