Job description

We are looking for an experienced Technology Transformation professional to lead the design and delivery of technology change across our client environments.

This is a senior, client facing role combining technology expertise, solution design and delivery leadership. You will work with clients to understand their existing technology landscape, identify what needs to change and lead the design and implementation of solutions that support their business requirements.

Assignments will vary considerably. You may lead the redesign of an existing IT environment, deliver a cloud or platform migration, modernise workplace technology, address infrastructure or configuration issues or lead the technical delivery of a broader business transformation programme.

You will often work across multiple technologies and with a combination of client IT teams, MSPs, software providers, implementation partners and other specialists. Your role is to provide the technical leadership that brings those elements together, makes sound design decisions and ensures the required change is successfully delivered. Some engagements may also involve preparing client environments for specific external requirements, such as Cyber Essentials Plus, working with relevant specialists to translate requirements into practical technology changes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading technology transformation engagements from initial discovery and current state assessment through solution design, implementation, migration and transition.
• Assessing existing technology environments to understand architecture, platforms, infrastructure, applications, integrations, dependencies and operational constraints.
• Designing future state technology environments and solutions that meet business requirements and are scalable, resilient and supportable.
• Leading cloud, infrastructure, workplace and platform transformations, including migrations, modernisation and consolidation.
• Resolving complex technology environment issues, identifying root causes and designing and delivering practical solutions.
• Providing technical leadership throughout delivery, making and guiding design decisions and managing technical dependencies, risks and implementation challenges.
• Leading delivery across multiple parties, including client technology teams, MSPs, vendors, engineers and implementation partners.
• Taking responsibility for technical outcomes, ensuring solutions are properly implemented, tested, transitioned and capable of operating effectively.
• Supporting wider business transformation programmes where technology change is a critical component of the overall outcome.
• Communicating clearly with client stakeholders, translating complex technology decisions, dependencies and risks for both technical and non technical audiences.

Capabilities required

We are looking for someone who combines broad technology expertise with strong solution design, delivery leadership and the ability to take ownership of complex change.

You should bring:

• Broad technology experience: Significant experience across enterprise technology environments with a strong understanding of how infrastructure, cloud platforms, workplace technology, applications, identity, data and networks fit together.
• Technology transformation experience: A strong track record of delivering technology change such as platform migrations, cloud adoption, infrastructure modernisation, workplace transformation, systems implementation or technology environment redesign.
• Solution design capability: The ability to understand an existing environment and business requirements, identify options and design a pragmatic future state solution.
• Technical depth: Sufficient technical capability to interrogate an environment, understand how technologies interact, challenge proposed solutions and make informed design and implementation decisions.
• Delivery leadership: Experience taking complex technology initiatives from concept through design and implementation to successful transition into operation.
• Problem solving: The ability to diagnose complex technology issues, work through legacy constraints and develop practical solutions in environments that may not be well documented or neatly structured.
• Multi party delivery: Experience leading work involving internal technology teams, MSPs, vendors, software providers and other delivery partners.
• Commercial judgement: The ability to balance technical quality with cost, complexity, operational impact and the client's actual requirements.
• Client facing capability: The confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders and technology teams, providing leadership and constructive challenge where required.
• Communication: The ability to explain complex technology matters clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.

Experience across Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud and hybrid environments, infrastructure, workplace technology and enterprise platforms would be valuable. Experience of regulated environments, complex migrations, technology due diligence or Cyber Essentials Plus readiness would also be advantageous.
