Technical Training Manager

Burton‑On‑Trent (Hartshorne Group)

Are you passionate about driving technical excellence and innovation in the commercial vehicle industry? Join us as a Technical Training Manager based in the Hartshorne region. INSPIRE. DEVELOP. LEAD. We are seeking a dynamic Technical Training Manager to lead and develop technical training for Hartshorne. This role is pivotal in ensuring our training delivery, content, and training tools stay ahead of evolving Volvo Truck & Bus technologies. You will take ownership of training strategy, drive innovation within the training department, and build strong relationships across regional depots to refine technician performance. This is your opportunity to train the next generation of technicians, drive performance across regional depots, and embed a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

The successful candidate will be predominantly based at our Burton depot, but you must be willing to travel / overnight stays when required.

About You
  • ✅ Strong communication skills and ability to innovate.
  • ✅ Passion for teaching, coaching, and inspiring others.
  • ✅ Hold an IRTEC qualification along with a class 1 licence.
  • ✅ Self‑motivated, adaptable, and eager to stay ahead of technology.
  • ✅ Willing to achieve a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (if not already held).
  • ✅ Level 3 IMI / BTEC / City & Guids HGV repair and maintenance (or equivalent) with hands‑on experience, ideally with Volvo products.
