Salary: £24,430

Hours: 37 hours per week, all year round

About the role

Bring your trade skills into education – and help build the next generation of electricians.

We’re looking for a practical, motivated and safety‑conscious Technician Trainer to join our Construction team at Peterborough College. You’ll use your real‑world experience to train, support and inspire learners on our Construction programmes, helping them gain the hands‑on skills and confidence they need for successful careers.

What you’ll do
  • Deliver practical training and support in electrical and construction skills
  • Coach and assess learners in workshops and on accredited programmes
  • Maintain tools, materials and equipment to a high standard
  • Supervise learners in workshops, ensuring a safe and positive environment
  • Keep workshops organised, stocked, and compliant with Health & Safety regulations
  • Work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging, high‑quality learning experiences
What we’re looking for
  • Experience in the construction or electrical industry
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety in a workshop environment
  • Strong practical skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working with young people and adult learners
  • A positive, can‑do attitude and a passion for sharing your skills
  • Ideally, hold or be willing to work towards:
    • Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area
    • Level 3 Award in Education & Training (PTLLS) or equivalent
