Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Technical Test Manager - BPL - CIO

Join us as a Technical Test Manager- BPL - CIO as we experience large change in organisation and will require coordination for Test Strategy, work with all teams to understand what needs to be in place, putting those in place, coordinate capabilities. This role requires a technical person that can do Project and Test Management. A key responsibility will be reporting around testing, incorporation AI to assist in the technical requirements and strategy. You will be will oversee quality, best practice across teams and make sure it is as effortless and progressive as possible. This is an exciting chance to work greenfield, build new components and also migrations from legacy.

Essential Skills

To be successful as a Technical Test Manager- BPL , you must have the following essential skills; Leadership of risk-based testing for large, technically complex programmes, supported by hands-on engineering credibility Excellent technical understanding of automation, APIs, distributed architectures, data, cloud and CI/CD Practical application and governance of AI within testing, including evaluation, limitations and human oversight Some other highly valued skills may include; Payments, financial services and operational resilience experience Experience implementing quality-engineering operating models or enterprise test platforms Working knowledge of Python, SQL, observability and AI governance sufficient to inspect and challenge technical outputs.

Location

The successful candidate will be based in London. Our offices are located at 1 Churchill Place and 7 Westferry Circus (new BPL office). We support a hybrid working pattern with 3 days per week office-based presence expected.
