Job description

Job Title: Technical Services Supervisor

Location: London, WC2H 8NU

Salary: Up to £58,000 plus 10% bonus

Purpose of the Job

The Technical Services Supervisor (TSS) is responsible for overseeing the effective and safe execution of planned and reactive technical tasks. This includes direct work by Sodexo employees as well as operational control over subcontractors working on behalf of Sodexo. The role requires active participation in a shift rota, supporting the Technical Services Manager to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all client equipment and systems operate reliably to meet client operational needs, escalating issues promptly where outputs may be at risk.
  • Assist with prioritisation of work orders and communicate effectively with DigiHub, Helpdesk, and end users regarding repair requirements.
  • Diagnose faults and repair assets within technical capabilities, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Quality assure technical activities in compliance with Sodexo Global Engineering Standards and industry best practices, including work by subcontractors.
  • Conduct like-for-like asset replacements and minor new works as directed.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and Sodexo teams (both site-based and remote).
  • Support the training and development of technical staff within the team.
  • Maintain awareness of cost/benefit implications and sustainability impact related to technical service delivery.
  • Deputise for the Technical Services Manager as required, including participating in emergency escalation response out of hours.
  • Ensure safe working practices are upheld at all times, including compliance with Safe Systems of Work such as RAMS and LOTO.
  • Maintain required certifications and appointments, acting as the site Authorised Person (AP) in relevant disciplines.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely completion of work orders within contractual and professional standards.
Accountabilities
  • Provide regular updates to the Technical Services Manager regarding work order progress, satisfaction, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain and enforce professional standards in line with Sodexo Global Engineering Standards across the technical teams.
  • Complete all required training modules and attain competency levels necessary to perform the role effectively.
Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification, preferably in an electrical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ practical experience in a technical maintenance environment.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong technical competence with up-to-date knowledge of engineering standards and best practices.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage technical maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and standards in a technical setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers and team members.
  • Strong organizational and self-management skills to plan workload and meet deadlines.
