A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking an experienced Technical Services Specialist to provide expertise in technologies like firewalls, networking, and servers. The role involves diagnosing technical issues, delivering support, and mentoring team members. Candidates should have experience in network troubleshooting, LAN/WAN technologies, and virtualization. The position requires 24/7 on-call support and travel across sites in Warwickshire as necessary.
We are looking for an experienced Technical ServicesSpecialist to join our Technology Services division. The successful candidatewill provide subject matter expertise across a range of technologies, includingfirewalls, switching, routing, LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi networks, servers, storage, andvirtualization platforms.
The post holder will be responsible for diagnosing andresolving advanced technical faults and delivering high-level support to usersof Innovates ICT hardware and software services. In addition, they will act asa subject matter expert in the planning and delivery of infrastructure projectsfor all stakeholders.
The post holder in this role willoffer subject matter expertise across various technologies, includingfirewalls, switching, routing, LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi technologies, servers, storage,and the virtualization stack. This expertise is expected to be comprehensive,encompassing ground-up deployment experience across multiple technologyplatforms.
The postholder must have the ability to demonstrate a logical approach to diagnosingand resolving advanced technical faults on supported equipment throughout theorganisation.
The postholder will work alongside the infrastructure team providing advanced technicalsupport to users of Innovates ICT services hardware and software.
The postholder will act as a subject matter expert for delivering infrastructureprojects for all stakeholders.
The postholder will be required to provide 24 x 7 on‑call support on a rota basis forall ICT supported services and liaise with specialised support groups and 3rd parties on incident resolution.
This role will predominantly be based at George Eliot Hospital, however there will be a requirement to work from our other sites across Warwickshire as necessary.

Act as a subject matter expert on all server and storage technologies across the entire customer base. This includes, but is not limited to, virtualization, optimisation, and security.
Act as a subject matter expert on all networking technologies across the entire customer base. This includes, but is not limited to, switching, WiFi, MPLS and internet, firewalls, optimisation, and security.
Where technical configurations will be complex, ensure that it remains straightforward to support and administer by other team members.
Train, mentor, and coach other team members, and apprentices to enable the on‑going personal development and growth of skills within the team.
Act as a subject matter expert for infrastructure projects, providing technical guidance and expertise throughout the project's lifecycle. This includes planning, design, implementation, and maintenance phases to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
Ensure thorough system documentation is created or updated according to best practice standards for Knowledge Management.
Offer advice and guidance related to ICT security and adhere to all ICT security procedures while performing your duties.
Articulate complex and challenging ICT issues clearly to non‑technical staff, suppliers, and peer groups.
Undertake other duties to meet the changing needs and priorities of the Trust being supported, as determined by either the Head of Technology Services or Associate Director of Technology Services and in accordance with the grade and nature of the post.
The post holder will be expected to take responsibility for their own professional development and will be supported to achieve development opportunities as appropriate.
The post holder will be available to travel between sites in Warwickshire as andwhen needed.
To provide 24 x 7 on‑call support on a rota basis covering our sites in Warwickshire as and when needed.
