We’re looking for a driven and passionate Technical Services Manager to join our dynamic team at VIVO, supporting a prestigious high-security site at DSTL, Porton Down. About the Role

As our Technical Services Manager, you’ll be the engine that keeps essential systems running smoothly. You’ll lead a skilled team of engineers and operatives, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is delivered to the highest standards. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining compliance, meeting KPIs, and upholding the safety and security of a site that plays a critical role in national defence and innovation. Your leadership will empower others, mentoring apprentices and developing successors, fostering a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical linchpin – advising the client, managing remedial works, reviewing inspection reports, and ensuring health and safety documentation is rock-solid.
  • Take ownership of billable works up to £25k, oversee CAFM maintenance scheduling, and ensure accurate asset updates.
  • Build strong relationships with DSTL stakeholders, VIVO colleagues, and our trusted supply chain.
  • Lead on statutory compliance, safety-critical asset management, and succession planning.
  • Provide hands‑on, customer-focused, admin‑heavy support, using CAFM systems and data.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing contractors and ensuring compliance within a hard services FM environment.
  • Self‑motivated, reliable, and an excellent communicator.
  • Computer literate, able to work with data and various CAFM systems.
  • SMSTS licence or working towards it, and SC Clearance is a bonus.
  • Prior MOD environment experience is a definite plus.
