Technical Services Assistant – Food Technology - South East UK – £35,000 + Expenses & Progression Opportunities

Are you interested in food science, post-harvest research and quality management? We are seeking a Technical Services Assistant to join a fast growing food technology organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their career to gain practical experience working with a variety of fresh produce products and commercial partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for product quality and post harvest trials
  • Assess the condition and performance of products at multiple facilities
  • Assist in creating trial protocols and technical documentation
  • Participate in meetings, taking technical notes and supporting client processes
  • Manage multiple ongoing product assessments in an organised way
  • Work in storage environments with commercial partners
  • Collaborate with senior technical staff, receiving guidance and on the job training
The Candidate
  • Early career professional with education or experience in crop science, food science or a related discipline
  • Interest in post-harvest quality, trials, or food technology
  • Strong scientific curiosity with excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Clear communicator, able to work with different teams and cultures
  • Organised, adaptable, and capable of working independently in a hybrid role
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel within the UK
