Job summary

Feedback Instruments Ltd. is seeking engineers, scientists or technical lecturers to move into technical sales, joining a team that covers Northern UK from a home-based base.

Full training will be provided, with no prior sales experience required but strong technical credibility and communication skills are essential. The role involves developing new business, advising universities and colleges on laboratory equipment, and delivering demonstrations and workshops.

Qualifications

• A degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Physics or another engineering or scientific discipline.
• Around 2-10 years of professional experience in engineering, science, technical education or a customer-facing technical role.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to explain technical concepts to different audiences with confidence.
• A proactive, organised and self-motivated approach.
• The willingness to travel regularly throughout Northern UK.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Developing new business opportunities across your territory.
• Building long-term relationships with universities, colleges and technical training providers.
• Advising customers on laboratory equipment and engineering education solutions.
• Understanding customer requirements and recommending the most appropriate technical solutions.
• Delivering engaging product demonstrations, workshops and presentations.
• Preparing quotations and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Managing projects from the initial enquiry through to successful delivery.
• Representing the company at exhibitions, conferences and technical events.
• Managing your sales pipeline using our CRM system.
• Working closely with colleagues in Germany on customer projects.
