Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Sales Manager to join our rapidly expanding UKI Data Centre sales team. This key position will own the data centre specification strategy and technical solution sales across your UK & Ireland customers by influencing consultants partnering with contractors and engaging end users. Create and convert specifications into orders through value engineered HVAC solutions (hydronic chilled water and airside) while enabling Key Account Managers to win and expand strategic accounts.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Build and execute territory plans for priority consultant practices secure basis of design and preferred vendor status for Carrier solutions.
  • Deliver CPDs / technical briefings; develop concept selections schematics and performance schedules aligned to DC design standards.
  • Engage with DC M&E contractors, general contractors and owner operators to shape bids selections and execution strategy.
  • Lead technical / commercial solutioning: equipment selections, controls integration, redundancy strategies and phasing.
  • Create / review selections heat load assessments and layout proposals; ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
  • Own the technical scope in proposals, clarifications and deviations; manage risk and ensure deliverability with Operations / Project Management.
  • Partner with Key Account Managers on named hyperscaler / colocation / enterprise accounts to create pull through via consultant specification and contractor alignment.
  • Deliver internal training tools and playbooks (spec packs selection templates, objection handling) to increase win rates.
  • Have strong experience in technical sales / specification within data centre infrastructure; HVAC chilled water and airside cooling experience strongly preferred.
  • Technical knowledge required: Hydronic chilled water systems, free cooling and heat recovery strategies; heat recovery and airside solutions for DC applications.
  • Proven success influencing consultant specifications and converting to orders via contractors / end users.
  • Fluency with selections psychometrics controls / BMS integration and resilience strategies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation skills; strong organization and time management.
