Job summary

Apex Systems is seeking an on-site UK Field Engineer Programme Manager to lead deployment of engineering solutions across UK & Ireland delivery stations. You will coordinate planning, site verification, and vendor liaison for multiple locations.

This role requires a strong engineering background, project management experience on large technology projects, Six Sigma/Lean credentials, and the ability to travel extensively between UK & Ireland client sites.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience withMaterial Handling Equipment such as conveyors, sortation, high-speed packaging lines is required.
• Proven capability to manage large-scale, complex technology projects.
• Six Sigma/Lean certification or practical experience is expected.
• Proficient in English and MS Office.
• Willingness to travel to UK & Ireland client sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and site verification activities across UK & Ireland deployment sites.
• Identify interferences with existing/new equipment and raise MCMs as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors, Ops, WHS and RME; provide daily progress reports to PM.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and gather stakeholder feedback; escalate issues.
• Manage onsite materials and coordinate with Ops/RME for transport and installation.
• Coordinate IT access (IDF keys, cabinets) and validate cable terminations with IT.
• Support site acceptance tests and help close out snags; ensure documentation is complete.

Job description

Multiple Location: London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh / Glasgow

Requirement: Onsite & required travel between sites

Start Date: Mid of December/1st week of Jan 2027

Scope: Primary on-site POC for UK Field Engg team during deployment of engineering solutions (Matrix, ADTFs, ADTAs, ASLs, Tippers, retrofits, etc) in existing delivery stations or new greenfield launches of UK/IE Amazon Logistics (AMZL) network.

Travel: Onsite 75%-100% during project deployment at any delivery station in UK/IE

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Project planning
• Field verification of drawings and identifying interferences with existing/new equipment
• Raise MCMs for different project phases, and address concerns, if any, from different approver groups, prior to start of works onsite.
• Set-up and manage daily calls with vendors, Ops, WHS and RME. Provide daily report summary to UK FE PM.
• Site visits to verify project progress and gather stakeholder/customer feedback. Frequency of site visits to be agreed with UK FE PM. Proactively address any concerns during these site visits. Escalate to UK FE PM as needed.
• Manage any AMZL ordered materials (signage, racking, SBL) to be received onsite, inventory and identify any gaps. Coordinate with Ops/RME to transport materials within the DS and 3PA to provide labour for the material movement and install.
• Coordinate with IT, obtain IDF keys and monitor IDF cabinets during data cable terminations. Validate cable installation and functionality with IT.
• Supporting UK FE PM during site acceptance tests (2-3wks continuous onsite presence)
• Project closure
• Support PM with closing all snags onsite
• Obtain all documentation from vendor and validate list against vendor deliverables. Validate basic document content (for ex. Declaration of conformity signed, correct DS name, etc.)
• Transfer all documentation to appropriate storage location

MUST-HAVE Requirements (Candidate CVs must demonstrate):

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification
• Proven experience with Material Handling Equipment (conveyor systems, sortation systems, high-speed packaging lines, manufacturing lines)
• Demonstrated project management capability on large-scale, complex technology projects
• Six Sigma / Lean methodology certification or practical experience
• Fluency in English
• Willingness to travel to client sites across UK and Ireland
• Proficient in Microsoft office tools

PREFERRED Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):

• End-to-end project management experience in warehouse/logistics environments
• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
• Data-driven analysis and financial modelling capabilities
