The IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project delivery, ranging from creation of project plans, managing relationships, project milestones, and project budgets to facilitate software development. These responsibilities are done in accordance with Atorus and/or sponsor standard operating procedures (SOPs), and sponsor requirements. The IT Project Manager will possess the depth and breadth of experience to lead the multi-functional teams to ensure on-time, high-quality implementation for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and work closely with business teams to collect the business requirements, define the solution (functionally and technically)
- Collaborate with the development team, and stakeholders to define and prioritize product backlog items, ensuring alignment between technical implementation and business requirements.
- Manage assigned projects from original concept through final implementation and completion of tasks and deliverables. Projects may include application development, infrastructure implementations, onboarding of users and new IT services.
- Own the delivery process, including promoting Agile culture through supporting, coaching, mentoring, facilitating, and teaching developers.
- Ensure project objectives/requirements are clear and agreed to by all stakeholders
- Track and communicate project progress, providing visibility into analysis timelines, resource allocation, and potential challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to coordinate and integrate efforts and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Administer and utilize PM tools to ensure appropriate key project documentation is prepared throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitor project progress including issue, risk and change management
- Report project status to internal and client teams
- Provide work direction and guidance to all team members and assist them in issue resolution
- Development Efforts (~10%) - When feasible, contribute code to repositories, perform code review/QC, assist in releases, etc. to support development efforts.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- 3+ years of program/project/product management experience, preferably as a Scrum Master or Product Owner.
- Knowledge and experience with successful Agile best practices and framework, particularly in relation to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Intermediate to advanced R programming skills.
- Preferably has advanced understanding of {tidyverse} and base R code.
- Preferably comfortable with working with complex data structures (e.g., nested lists, nested functions/callstack, meta-programming).
- Experience working with remote or distributed teams.
- Preferred Experience with CRO/Pharma
- Nice to have –
- Project management certification (PMP, CSM, PSM, etc.)
- Prior experience in a software development or engineering role.
- Prior experience in clinical analytics/RBM.
