Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate Technical Project Coordinator to join the British Museum's Information Services team. The British Museum is proud to be one of the world's most visited museums. In 2024, its home in Camden received 6.5 million visitors, more than any other museum in the UK. Against this backdrop, the British Museum is now undergoing an extraordinary transformation, including with its technical development with many older legacy systems currently being updated with new technologies. You will support the Information Services Programme and Delivery team by planning and documenting technical procedures, policies and more across the Information Services department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a wide range of documentation with the Technical Services teams to manage security operations.
  • Create process and system documentation that contains detailed information about the Museum's IT infrastructure, processes and procedures.
  • Document agreements with third‑party vendors that outline security requirements and responsibilities.
  • Work closely with the Cyber Security Team in the Information Services department.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience documenting IT processes.
  • Previous experience working in a professional IT environment with experience in process documentation and delivering written reports.
  • Experience of stakeholder management and facilitating workshops.
  • Interpersonal, numeracy, literacy and communication skills; highly organised with an analytical mindset.
