Descrizione del lavoro

RWS is simplifying the technology landscape that underpins our products and services. This includes migrating customers, workflows and capabilities between core platforms and reducing dependency on certain systems.

We are looking for a Technical Programme Manager to lead the end-to-end orchestration of these complex technical migrations.

Working closely with Delivery Leads, Senior Engineers, Product Management and other project team members, you will ensure that the many technical dependencies required for a successful migration are understood, coordinated and delivered as one coherent programme.

You will not own the detailed architecture, but your role is to make sure the whole technical change works together: that interfaces align, data moves correctly, dependencies are sequenced, gaps are surfaced early and every team understands what needs to be true for customers and capabilities to migrate successfully.

Key Responsibilities
Job Overview
  • Lead complex programmes to migrate customers, workflows and capabilities between RWS's core technology platforms.
  • Build and maintain a clear end-to-end view of the migration, including systems, integrations, data flows, dependencies, sequencing and ownership.
  • Work with leaders to connect plans across individual teams and workstreams into a coherent end-to-end programme.
  • Coordinate technical dependencies across multiple engineering teams and technology domains, ensuring individual solutions combine into a functioning overall outcome.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and architects to drive alignment on APIs, interfaces, data structures, mappings, behaviours and other cross-system contracts.
  • Identify gaps, conflicting assumptions and unresolved dependencies early and drive them to resolution with the appropriate technical or delivery owners.
  • Establish clear migration plans, readiness criteria, milestones and decision points covering development, integration, testing, data migration, cutover and transition.
  • Ensure customer and capability migrations are approached systematically, including understanding migration cohorts, exceptions and technical constraints.
  • Coordinate end-to-end integration, testing and migration readiness across systems rather than relying solely on component-level completion.
  • Maintain clear visibility of programme-level risks, dependencies, decisions and actions, escalating where cross-team resolution or leadership intervention is required.
  • Support Delivery Leads and project teams by providing the cross-workstream technical context needed to sequence and prioritise delivery effectively.
  • Work with Product and business stakeholders to connect technical migration activity to customer, operational and commercial priorities.
  • Provide senior stakeholders with a clear view of progress, risks, key decisions and confidence in migration readiness.
  • Continuously improve the repeatability of migrations, reducing manual coordination and establishing reusable approaches where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of software delivery, systems integration, APIs, data flows and distributed technology architectures.
  • Significant experience leading complex technical programmes involving multiple systems, engineering teams and organisational boundaries.
  • Experience delivering system migrations, platform transformations, major integrations or similarly dependency-heavy technical change.
  • Able to work at sufficient technical depth to understand detailed cross-system dependencies and challenge ambiguity without needing to be the solution architect.
  • Strong ability to translate a complex technical landscape into clear plans, dependencies, ownership and decisions.
  • Comfortable facilitating detailed conversations between engineers where alignment may need to reach API, data-field, workflow or interface level.
  • Demonstrable experience identifying delivery risks created by gaps between teams and workstreams, not just within individual projects.
  • Experience working closely with Delivery Leads, engineering leads, architects, product managers and other cross-functional project stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, architecture, operations and business teams.
  • Able to operate effectively in environments where the answer is not initially clear and bring structure without adding unnecessary process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to communicate technical programme complexity clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Outcome-focused and comfortable driving accountability for an end-to-end result across teams without relying on direct line management authority
