Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead global data center fiber design and capacity planning. The role involves managing multi-disciplinary programs, coordinating with engineering, operations, and external vendors to ensure scalable infrastructure and clear stakeholder communication.

You will plan requirements, identify risks, and drive schedules while presenting tradeoffs to executives and engineers alike.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• RCDD certification.
• At least 2 years of program management experience.
• Experience in Fiber OSP/ISP Engineering and fiber construction, installation, testing, capacity management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute global data center fiber designs and capacity planning.
• Manage the execution of complex technical programs, driving fiber design engineering initiatives and robust network capacity planning to meet current and future infrastructure demands.
• Oversee Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) inventory and capacity management, ensuring accurate asset tracking, resource allocation, and scalability.
• Establish comprehensive reporting frameworks for all projects, providing stakeholders with clear visibility into milestones, risks, and performance metrics.
• Coordinate across engineering, operations, and external vendors to align technical execution with deployment timelines.

Job description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• RCDD certification.
• 2 years of experience in program management.
  
• Experience in Fiber OSP/ISP Engineering.
• Experience in fiber construction, installation, testing, capacity management and reporting.

Preferred qualifications:

• 8 years of industry experience, including 5 years of experience in critical infrastructure facilities (e.g., data centers, labs, or hospitals).
• Experience working on gathering customer or product requirements for data center builds.
• Strong organizational, multitasking and prioritization abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a data-driven problem-solving approach to solving complex challenges and financial skills.
