Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE JOB

Anduril is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join the Maneuver Dominance - Enabling Technology team in London. The Maneuver Dominance (MD) Team at Anduril develops aerial robotic systems designed to operate in large coordinated teams in concert with ground manoeuvre forces. Maneuver Dominance develops perception, autonomy, and command and control (C2) systems to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers.

The Enabling Technology (ET) team builds the shared capabilities that MD’s programmes depend on, including mission systems, perception, navigation, effectors, and operator interfaces, developing them ahead of programme and product needrather than in response to it. As the TPM for Enabling Technology in the UK, you will own capability areas end to end: shaping what gets funded, driving it through development, and transitioning it into the programmes that consume it. Much of this work is delivered jointly with our US teams on a shared baseline, while nationally controlled elements are developed in country.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Own a capability area end to end, covering charter, budget, scope, and roadmap, partnered with an Engineering Lead who serves as technical principal investigator
  • Lead a cross-functional capability team of hardware, software, and systems engineers to deliver capability that exceeds customer expectations
  • Build and defend annual internal R&D (IRAD) submissions: shape proposals, size efforts, and take them through senior leadership review, then hold each funded effort to its charter
  • Define and enforce exit criteria for each effort so that capability transitions cleanly into receiving programme teams and runs in their pipelines, rather than demonstrating once and stalling
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, programme stakeholders, and customers, and as the ET point of contact in the UK
  • Partner deeply with engineering leaders to drive execution, unblock technical challenges, and accelerate cross-team and cross-site projects
  • Develop a deep understanding of mission requirements and master the technical concepts needed to identify key dependencies, trade-offs, and risks, particularly at the interfaces between mission systems, sensors, effectors, and the platforms that carry them
  • Coordinate and execute frequent test events, from hardware-in-the-loop simulation through to ground test and live flight demonstration on rotorcraft and uncrewed air systems
  • Work jointly with US teams on a shared baseline while ensuring nationally controlled elements are developed and held in country, making the call early on which elements belong where
  • Plan and integrate across system boundaries, holding schedule and interface commitments when parts of the work are not visible to the whole team
  • Proactively identify technical, programmatic, export control, and security risks, develop mitigation plans, and drive issues to resolution before they become blockers
  • Foster a culture of extreme ownership and a bias towards action within the team
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BEng/BSc/MEng in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience in engineering, systems integration, or technical programme management
  • Demonstrated experience owning programme management or engineering delivery for sophisticated hardware and software systems
  • Strong technical aptitude, able to read and interrogate technical designs, understand software development lifecycles, and form an independent view of technical risk
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering, environmental considerations, and requirements verification and validation, particularly for aerospace or defence applications
  • Demonstrated experience delivering engineering work under export control and security classification, including judging what can be shared with international colleagues and what must be developed in country
  • Working knowledge of UK export control and security regimes, including the UK Military List, SPIRE and OGELs, F680, and the handling of classified and OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE material
  • Proven experience delivering complex solutions in highly regulated environments, for example UK MOD
  • Ability to inspire and guide teams, build consensus, and influence without direct authority
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance to a minimum of SC level
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience managing an internal R&D or technology development portfolio, including funding proposals and stage-gate reviews
  • Experience transitioning technology out of development and into a delivery programme or product line
  • Experience with weapons, effectors, munitions, or launch systems, including their safety, qualification, and export considerations
  • Experience with rotorcraft, VTOL, or uncrewed air systems, and with airworthiness or certification processes
  • Practical familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and the judgement to apply each where best suited
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and a requirements management system such as Jama, plus familiarity with MBSE or SysML approaches
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into non-technical terms
