Job summary

A prestigious university department is seeking a highly skilled individual to lead the Making & Production Team, ensuring that the facility supports critical experimental work. The successful candidate will manage technical staff and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize technical capabilities. Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technical teams.
  • Proven experience managing supplier, distributor, and contractor relationships.
  • Broad technical theatre expertise including sound, lighting, and set construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety regulations relevant to theatre environments.
  • Proven ability to articulate user requirements to aid experimental design.
  • Advanced proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility has the appropriate making and production capabilities.
  • Lead, develop and line-manage direct reports.
  • Collaborate with UCL members and external contacts regarding technical infrastructure.
  • Be the main point of contact for technical issues.
  • Liaise with users to assist and advise on making and production aspects.
