Scope of the role:

The technical pre-sales function within NEC works closely with the application product owners and the hosting design team to ensure that propositions meet client requirements while being achievable for the delivery teams within NEC. The role requires the candidate to learn about the NEC hosting environment and applications, to add value to our propositions and tender responses, particularly for Software as a Service opportunities. The role includes, but is not limited to:

• Working with the sales team on proposals and pitches as an NEC hosting pre-sales subject matter expert
• Ensuring hosting solutions meet customer requirements and highlighting risks to NEC stakeholders
• Collaborating with customers to understand and capture their business requirements
• Presenting proposals alongside the sales team
• Producing costing models for hosted propositions
• Working with NEC Design team to ensure technical solutions are deliverable within budget

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

• Experience engaging with clients and internal stakeholders, explaining complex technical solutions
• Ability to communicate technical info to non-technical staff
• Experience in a similar role, preferably in a competitor organization
• Experience costing solutions on virtualized and physical platforms
• Understanding of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity solutions
• Eligibility for NPPV3 and UK Security Clearance
• Ability to incorporate resilience and redundancy in solutions
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and good time management
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Experience designing solutions for the Public Sector and Central Government
• Basic understanding of network, storage, server, firewall terminology
• Knowledge of NEC products
