The role

Our Salisbury site in Adelaide’s northern suburbs manufactures a range of more than 78 milk and milk-based products. This site is a combined production and distribution facility producing well-known brands such as Pura, Dairy Farmers, Farmers Union, and Feel Good; and distributes across predominantly SA and NT, but also NSW and VIC.

Based at our Salisbury site, we are looking for a Technical Officer with a problem‑solving mindset who is looking to join a close-knit culture and make a meaningful impact on the site’s quality and safety standards and has a passion for continuous improvement processes and methods.

Please note that the Technical Officer position works on evening shifts between 5:30 PM and 12 AM (Midnight), with rostered 2 Sundays per month and 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Co‑ordinating the day-to-day physical / chemical / microbial testing, recording & reporting of raw materials and operations in the laboratory
  • Conducting product release in SAP-QM and ensuring reporting on Quality Lead Indicators
  • Identifying and reporting trend data for non‑conformance investigations and initiating process improvement policies to support improvements in Good Laboratory Practices
  • Maintaining pre-requisite activities as required by HACCP, BRCGS and other customer standards
  • Providing technical support to external departments and business partners
About you
  • Minimum of a tertiary qualification in food science or a similar discipline
  • Experience in a similar role, overseeing food safety, quality, preferably in a large-scale organisation
  • Strong ability to make informed and timely decisions with strong communication skills
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to influence and make critical decisions
  • Working knowledge of HACCP & GMP will be highly regarded
