Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join Keyline's Technical Team as a Utilities authority with specialist knowledge across the Water and Power sectors. As part of the UK's largest civils merchant and Travis Perkins Group, you'll play a pivotal role in our strategic Utilities expansion.

The successful candidate will possess in-depth understanding of AMP8 water sector frameworks and investment opportunities spanning 2025-2030, alongside comprehensive knowledge of DNO (Distribution Network Operator) requirements and approvals for power infrastructure.

Strong familiarity with relevant procurement frameworks, particularly for Tier 1 / 2 contractor engagement, is essential. Expert product knowledge across water and power ducting, accessories, WRAS-approved products, and associated infrastructure is required, ideally supported by established relationships with key industry suppliers.

You'll engage directly with Tier 1 / 2 contractors, designers, water companies, and suppliers to support Nationals and Regional sales teams with technical upskilling and product knowledge. The role involves identifying and developing product innovation opportunities across the water and power portfolio, driving our Utilities strategy including planned training programmes, and providing technical authority on WRAS, DWI Regulation 31, and DNO approval requirements. You'll also develop packaged solutions for utilities projects spanning from AMP8 frameworks through to private construction works.

Our Head Office is in Northampton, but the role is national in scope and requires travel via car and public transport to meet partners and collaborate with the Technical Team. This represents a rare opportunity to shape utilities strategy within the merchant sector, combining technical expertise with commercial acumen at the intersection of contractors, water companies, and suppliers in a dynamic, technically-minded team driving measurable business growth.
