  • Balance planned works, reactive requirements, access constraints and specialist capacity.
  • Establish clear ownership, escalation routes and performance routines across the delivery team.
  • Ensure pre‑start readiness, suitable welfare, competent supervision, equipment availability and timely close‑out.
Technical Leadership & Assurance
  • Act as the senior technical point of contact for rehabilitation methodology selection and constructability.
  • Review CCTV survey information, defect data, site constraints and asset condition to inform interventions.
  • Oversee solutions including CIPP lining, patch lining, UV or LED curing, ambient or hot cure systems, robotic cutting, resin injection, manhole sealing and related no‑dig methods.

  • Lead technical problem solving, trials, lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  • Champion visible leadership and a culture in which work is stopped when conditions are unsafe or controls are ineffective.
  • Ensure risk assessments, method statements, permits and emergency arrangements are suitable for the work.
  • Maintain effective controls for confined spaces, live sewers, high‑pressure water jetting, lifting operations, work equipment, hazardous substances and highway interfaces.
  • Support investigations, corrective actions, audits and the sharing of learning.
  • Protect customers, communities and the environment by reducing disruption, preventing pollution and controlling waste.
  • Own delegated budgets, forecasts, cost‑to‑complete reviews and margin improvement actions.

  • Represent the business at technical, operational and performance meetings.
  • Communicate complex issues clearly, including risk, options, programme and recommended action.
  • Manage escalations professionally and protect confidence through timely, transparent updates.
  • Lead, coach and develop managers, supervisors, engineers and specialist crews.
  • Maintain competency matrices, training plans, authorisations and succession arrangements.
  • Set clear expectations, conduct meaningful performance conversations and recognise good practice.
  • Build collaboration between CCTV, cleansing, lining, civils and commercial functions.
  • Promote inclusion, accountability and practical innovation.
