Technical Manager – Part Time

Overview

This is a leading supplier of premium goods to UK retailers, known for quality, consistency, and market expertise. Strong partnerships with trusted growers ensure consistent supply and freshness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, manage and enhance the BRCGS Agents & Brokers Quality Management System, ensuring all procedures, company policies and records are up to date.
  • Lead the HACCP team.
  • Act as main technical contact for all customers and supplying sites.
  • Be responsible for product specifications, customer complaints, artwork approvals, new business set‑up, and sustainability requirements such as packaging waste and carbon reporting.
About the role

The purpose of your role will be to take ownership of ensuring compliance with BRCGS, legal, and customer standards. You’ll lead the Technical Department, managing the Quality Management System to ensure food safety and quality standards, whilst confidently working directly with major retailers and overseas suppliers.

Required experience and skills:

  • Similar experience in Food Manufacturing, specifically within food imports.
  • Good understanding of BRC standard and Retailer Standards, as well as HACCP Level 3.
  • Confident working directly with major retail customers and overseas suppliers.
Details

The Technical Manager job (ref:8970) is paying circa £50,000 (pro‑rata for 3 days) according to your experience. The package includes 4 weeks holiday (12 days pro‑rata) + statutory bank holidays (8) as well as a discretionary Annual Bonus Scheme. The business is closed between Christmas and New Year (extra discretionary days). The working hours are 3 days per week with flexibility. The site is in Staffordshire and is commutable from Lichfield, Rugeley, Burton‑Upon‑Trent, Tamworth and surrounding areas.
