Overview

Technical Manager - Part Time Job Share

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our small but mighty compliance team. Working alongside our Compliance Manager you will be proactive in managing all aspects of our compliance. The role is busy but rewarding, the right person will be methodical, organised and it helps if you love bread!

The position is a Job Share (with our Compliance Manager) ideally working 3 days per week (22.5 hours). You will help to oversee a team of 2, a Quality Assurance Technician and Quality Administrator.

Purpose and scope of role: To ensure that Hobbs House Bakery are compliant with all legal food safety requirements and continue to keep the safety of our staff and customers as a priority, supporting the business as it continues to flourish and grow.

Role
  • Managing and overseeing team of 2: Quality Assurance Technician and Quality Administrator.
  • HACCP Team Leader.
  • Horizon scanning – for new and upcoming risks and legislation
  • Management and continuous improvement of the food safety manual in compliance with legal requirements and SALSA standards.
  • Leading SALSA, Soil Association, customer and EHO audits
  • Overseeing pest control contractors
  • Ensuring the satisfactory investigation and close out of food safety related customer complaints
  • Conducting 6 monthly retail audits in preparation for EHO visits
  • Overseeing product sampling and testing programme – including shelf-life testing, yeast & mould, gluten free
  • Identifying training needs and communicating with the People Development Manager
  • Supporting all building developments from a food safety perspective.
